Dear Adams’ Families,
It is with great excitement I write this letter. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead Adams School as the principal. I began my career in education as a classroom teacher at Adams Elementary 26 years ago and am excited to return. Since teaching at Adams, I have served at several other schools in RUSD, including as the principal at Victoria Elementary and Bryant Elementary.
I would like to welcome you and your child to another fun school year filled with engaging learning opportunities to enrich and strengthen your child’s learning abilities and skills. From hands-on science activities and immersion in historical moments in time to creating art masterpieces and high-tech presentations, our school faculty has prepared a wide variety of learning experiences for all students.
I have a passion for the Core Knowledge® Program. Core Knowledge® will provide your child with challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience. Academic emphasis on the core content areas of language arts, science, social studies, and math will remain a priority as well as providing a learning program that builds each consecutive year. Instruction in visual arts, music, technology, and physical education complete our program - providing each student with the opportunity to develop these areas of interest and skill.
As a parent, you have a very important role in the success of your child’s academic achievement. Staying involved in your child’s education is the key to a successful year. As we begin this year, please remember that this is your school and we welcome your involvement. I encourage you to join us at school activities, volunteer in classrooms, chaperone field trips, and participate in other school programs. Our PTA is always looking for volunteers to help with various activities throughout the year. I also strongly encourage you to serve on our School Site Council or English Learner Advisory Committee. To increase communication about school events, please utilize the school website, and “like” us on Facebook. By joining together, we can establish strong foundations and positive role models for our children.
It is my hope that we will work together to achieve our mission, and that our children will understand the importance of a good education.
